ROG Crosshair VIII Impact

I purchased this board as the basis of the PC I built after 10 years of using Apple Macs, with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900, Geforce 3070 GPU and 64Gigs of Corsair 3200 memory, using water cooling which the Asus supports out of the box.
To power this lot was a Corsair HX750i PSU.
Every thing worked fine except the memory would only run at 2333 speeds, when the XMP profile was selected the PC would hang with the motherboard indicating there was a memory problem and the gpu would light up its power problem LED’s.
I thought maybe a larger PSU would do the trick, a Seasonic Prime 850 was obtained, same result, 32Gig of G Skill memory, no, change the mother board, and bingo everything works as it should, by the way a X570S AORUS Pro AX.
I can only conclude from this is the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Impact cannot provide the power a large GPU like the Geforce 3070 requires via its PCi connector, I have now built another PC with this motherboard using an Asrock Radeon RX 6500 XT and the Corsair PSU and boots no problem with the G Skill memory on the XMP profile. This has been an expensive two years.
