In Praise of the HP Envy 120 Series Printer & Scanner

Starting with the scanner I personaly think it is a good design, for a start the scanning mechinism is in the lid which means no greasy marks on the glass when placing or removing items for scanning.

Second the lid has some weight to hold items flat and you can see whether it is straight or not because the item that you’re scanning is face up rather than face down, which when you are scanning photo’s is an advantage.

Printing is reasonably fast even by WiFi and the text and graphics is of acceptable quality for the accasionall print jobs I require.

Even by my relaxed standards photo printing is unacceptable with evident banding.

As ever with all manufacturers including HP, is the ludicrous price of replacement cartridges, which can be anything between 25% and 100% of the purchase price of the printer, which in some ways is a good thing as it makes you think twice or four before you print anything.
